Being a kid these days is hard. Kids have pressure from all sides. Parents have expectations for what their kids are responsible for at home. They have classes and tests at school. They have to get along with their siblings. They re trying to fit in with friends. They ve got activities outside of school. They ve also got to deal with a few people in most of these areas who aren t very nice.

All of these things are part of any normal childhood. When you add excessive blushing into it, it can cause every area of your child s life to become even more challenging than it already is.

In school and in after school activities, your child will spend energy they should be using to concentrate on their studies or activities worrying about what will happen that day to trigger blushing. They ll worry that their classmates might tease them or say things specifically to try to get them to blush, that their teachers will grow impatient with them, or that even their friends will be insensitive.

At home, parents will try everything they can think of to help. From telling them it s not a big deal and they shouldn t worry so much, to trying to sympathize, to getting irritated and telling them that they could stop if they wanted to. Their siblings will inevitably tease them or try all the things their parents are trying in order to try and help.

All of the things your child has to deal with on a daily basis, just in relation to their blushing, will often only make your child feel even more isolated and misunderstood than they already do. This is added on top of all of the normal school and social pressures and responsibilities than every child has. It can be a lot for anyone to handle.

As a parent, when your child has a problem that they can t control, and you can t help them with, it can be very difficult for you as well. You wonder if you did something to cause it, if you re being too easy on them, too hard on them, giving them too much attention or maybe not enough attention. You take advice from other parents, from family, from neighbors, from teachers, from doctors and from counselors. Everybody has a different theory and different tactics they think you should try.

What you probably haven t done is to talk to other people with excessive blushing. You may not even have known that there were other people who blushed excessively. Excessive blushers cover every age group, both genders and every socioeconomic level. There is a lot of good support and advice out there for people who deal with excessive blushing. You can get advice from adults on the helpful, and sometimes less than helpful, things that their parents did to try and help them with their blushing. You can also connect your child with other kids their age who blush excessively. Knowing that they aren t the only kid in the world who has the same problem they do will help them handle the issues that they deal with on a daily basis.
