The largest aspect of having a successful golf game is having a great golf swing. There are many people who continue throughout their lives trying to perfect the perfect golf swing only to come remotely close to what could be the great golf swing that they are looking for. With research and practice, you could hold the key to a perfect game in a great golf swing.

The golf swing contains 6 simple parts. These include: grip, posture, pivot, hand/arm relativity, alignment, and the mental aspect. Some people will find that they need more help with one aspect of the swing while others focus on other main areas. Each player is an individual and will not require the same tutoring for a perfect swing.

Grip can be modified according to preference. Your right pinkie finger can overlap your left index finger, you could intertwine your right pinkie finger with your left index finger or you can use a basic grip where all fingers are on the club much like a baseball bat. No matter which you choose, you will want to keep your grip neutral, keeping your left thumb pointed down the center of the shaft of your club, and the butt end of the club is being held down by the palm of your left hand.

Posture is extremely important. Without good posture you are risking injury. By checking your stance, back, hand and arm positions you will cut down on the amount of mistakes made by poor posture. Your feet should be shoulder width apart with minimal knee flex and bending at the hips, not forcing your shoulders to hunch over. This will make your back curl and therefore hinder your swing.

Pivoting your body is the force of your great golf swing. It can be difficult to master if you are not careful to follow through with each portion in order to maintain control. By maintaining the flow of your pivot, you keep your back straight, the distribution of your body weight controlled and the follow through will connect with the ball, as it should. Your shoulders should follow your hips and your arms should not force the club, but follow your shoulders.

When looking at the hand/arm relativity, this encompasses your posture, grip and pivot together. If you are lacking in one of these areas, then your relationship in your hand and arms is suffering. Remember that hands do not push the club; your shoulders do the work for you and your arms and hands just follow the flow.

Alignment is how you line up your target. No matter how great your swing is, if you are not aligned to your ball properly, you will not see the results you are looking for. Focusing on your target is essential and block out any distractions that may grab your attention. If you are distracted, you will be drawn to them rather than your target.

The mental aspect of your golf swing will come with time and practice. Confidence rises for those who regularly practice their swing both on and off the golf course in order to maintain their proper grip, posture, pivot, alignment and hand/arm relationship. Be sure to keep your great golf swing working once you have found it.
